The government have announced that they will share £3million between 25 organisations (21 local authorities and 4 neighbourhood planning groups) in order to produce exemplar design codes and design coding processes.
The funding follows the support given by the Office for Place (which sits within the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) to test the application of the National Model Design Code.
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities recognises that outside expertise will be required to assist the organisations and so a search for eligible candidates has begun.
Government is committed to supporting and funding local authorities to ensure the planning system delivers more beautiful and sustainable buildings and places
