Laura Neal

Senior Associate, Private Client

Laura is a Senior Associate in the Private Client team.

She acts for predominantly UK resident and domiciled individuals, families and trustees, advising on all aspects of tax planning and strategic solutions for succession, which covers the creation and administration of trusts; capital tax planning involving trusts, partnerships and corporate structures; and preparing wills and lasting powers of attorney.

Laura's experience acting for significant landed estates is extensive; she routinely deals with substantial business property relief and agricultural property relief structuring and takes a thorough and practical approach to advising landowners, for whom an estate typically comprises a diversified business and the family home.

She plays a key role in running Forsters' Art Group, which focusses on acting for galleries and auction houses, as well as UK-based and international estates, trusts, foundations and collectors.  She also advises pre-eminent living artists on how to safeguard their legacies effectively using a variety of vehicles, both during their lifetimes and after their deaths.

Laura also sits on the firm’s Regulatory Group, which keeps trustees and other fiduciary service-providers, companies and individuals up-to-date on their reporting obligations.  Laura and the group formulate advice on the ever-expanding regulatory framework in the UK and flag the wider global reporting issues that can affect clients in relation to the trusts and other structures they create and manage.

She was named as one of eprivateclient's Top 35 Under 35 in 2021 and is ranked in both Chambers UK Guide and Chambers HNW Guide as an 'Associate to Watch'.

Laura trained at Forsters and qualified as a Private Client Solicitor in 2015.
