Some depressing statistics on the latest unemployment rates.  Perhaps not surprising, but striking nonetheless. Predicted to increase further when the furlough leave scheme ends, some quarters are suggesting that the government should extend the scheme.  It's hard to see this being a possibility, given the enormous cost.  

It'll be interesting to see how employers handle things over the next few months.  Hopefully, some roles will be saved through creative solutions (such as temporary part-time hours, pays cuts etc.).  We shall wait and see.
