Being an optimist, I see this as a positive sound bite. Tax rises now for vulnerable businesses could be the final proverbial "straw". Indeed, I'd like to see the chancellor go further and introduce further tax breaks and incentives to motivate entrepreneurs and other wealth generators. Perhaps reversing the £1m threshold for entrepreneurs' relief?
Rishi Sunak, the chancellor, said it was "premature" to think about tax rises or public spending cuts but refused to rule them out.
