The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has announced a £4m fund to help community-led housing groups across England deliver homes that meet the needs of local people.

The Community Housing Fund (CHF) can be used to cover a range of costs including legal advice, design work and planning applications, whilst funding for the build / delivery of the homes will have to be sought elsewhere, either through the government's Affordable Housing Programme, a Housing Association, a developer or via a bank loan.

DLUHC believes that over 1,200 new affordable homes will be delivered following the introduction of the new fund.

It will be interesting to see who takes advantage of the fund and if it will result in regenerating derelict areas as per the government's intentions...
