I enjoyed being on the panel on the recent Business Leadership session run by The Lawyer and NetDocuments. It was a great opportunity to listen to the different journeys that law firms are on in terms of digital transformation and the importance of recognising the need for real focus on this area. Particularly interesting was Mattheson's digital transformation and the embedding of a digital culture in the firm. Technology is overtaking all aspects of life and legal services is no exception.
Digital transformation is vital for firms both externally with how they serve their clients and internally for business operations and increased efficiency. 2020 saw a vast shift in the firmwide adoption of in-house technology, as fee earners and other business services tapped into the IT resources available to continue operating in a virtual world. As firms continue to develop their digital strategies, getting the right people to collaborate with the IT team and champion tech usage across the firm is integral to the success of the journey.
